Former CRO of mParticle & BlueKai/Oracle Executive, joins privacy compliance platform
NEW YORK, December 2nd, 2020: Sourcepoint, the privacy compliance platform of record for the digital marketing ecosystem, today announces the appointment of John Sedlak to Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Sedlak joins Sourcepoint following the recent acquisition of Redbud, a strategic investment by the company to increase privacy and compliance capabilities for both marketers and publishers.
With more than 15 years of experience in the marketing technology and data management industry, Sedlak will apply his extensive knowledge in sales, operations, revenue strategy, and data-driven marketing to continue driving the ambitious growth plans of Sourcepoint. He will be key in providing both customer and industry insights to ensure all new and existing clients are represented throughout the company’s operations. As CRO, Sedlak will be responsible for accelerating business growth, expanding the company’s success in Europe, and building on its presence in the US.
Prior to joining Sourcepoint, Sedlak gained deep knowledge of data management software and the critical need for data privacy technology during his time at companies such as mParticle, BlueKai (acquired by Oracle) and Adobe. Most recently, as CRO of mParticle, he was responsible for broadening the client base to include larger brands, such as Fortune 100 marketers, where he drove revenue and adoption of the company’s customer data platform (CDP) offering.
“We’re delighted to officially welcome John to the team during this exciting period of growth and expansion for Sourcepoint. In his work for Sourcepoint as an advisor this year, John was instrumental in helping us navigate the challenges of 2020 and refine our go-to-market plans. Working closely together revealed mutual excitement about the future of Sourcepoint and the market opportunity. John is an experienced CRO with in-depth knowledge of our industry, and he’s become a critical contributor to the executive team as we expand our go-to-market to scale the business,” said Ben Barokas, Sourcepoint co-founder and CEO. “Following the acquisition of RedBud to enhance our privacy analytics capabilities, we are continuing to make strategic moves that will strengthen our company. John’s joining the executive team is an integral part of those plans as we continue to help our customers navigate the increasingly complex privacy landscape.”
“As an advisor to Sourcepoint this year, I’ve witnessed up-close how the company has accelerated its mission to transform and elevate data privacy and compliance for the digital marketing ecosystem,” said John Sedlak, CRO, Sourcepoint. “As Sourcepoint continues to develop new technology to better serve its client base, my goal is to build upon and execute against the company’s ambitious growth plans. I look forward to working with the entire team and being part of a business that has already made huge strides to transform the digital marketing ecosystem, where consumer data privacy is paramount.”
“Sourcepoint has experienced great success over the last few months with the rapid expansion of both its offering and team. Following the recent acquisition of RedBud we’re excited to continue developing our services for our customers and work in helping the industry achieve a more ethical and compliant ecosystem,” said Brian Kane, COO and co-founder, Sourcepoint. “John will be crucial in helping shape our company and the experience we provide to our clients. His many years of industry expertise will be critical as we continue on this growth trajectory.”
