Model ESFR-25(TM), Early Suppression Fast Response, Pendent, K=25.2 by Tyco Fire Suppression Products
The Model ESFR-25 Pendent Sprinklers (Ref. Figure 1) are “Early Suppression Fast Response Sprinklers” having a nominal K-factor of 25.2. They are suppression mode sprinklers that are especially advantageous as a means of eliminating the use of in-rack sprinklers, when protecting high-piled storage. The Model ESFR-25 is primarily designed for use with storage heights of most encapsulated or non-encapsulated common materials including cartoned unexpanded plastics to 40 ft. (12,2 m) high and with ceiling heights to 45 ft. (13,7 m). In addition, the protection of some storage arrangements of rubber tires, roll paper, flammable liquids, aerosols, and automotive components can be considered as well.
Model ESFR-17, Early Suppression Fast Response, Upright, K=16.8 by Tyco Fire Suppression Products
The Model ESFR-17 Upright Sprinklers (Ref. Figure 1) are “Early Suppression Fast Response Sprinklers” having a nominal K-factor of 16.8.They are suppression mode sprinklers that are especially advantageous as a means of eliminating in-rack sprinklers, when protecting rack storage. The Model ESFR-17 is primarily designed for use in ceiling only sprinkler systems (i.e. no in-rack sprinklers) for the protection of storage heights of most encapsulated or non-encapsulated common materials including cartoned unexpanded plastics of up to 30 ft. (9,1 m) with ceiling heights to 35 ft. (10,7 m), as well as cartoned expanded plastics up to 25 ft. (7,6 m) with ceiling heights to 30 ft.(9,1 m). In addition, the protection of some storage arrangements of rubber tires and roll paper can be considered.
Model K17-231, Storage, Pendent & Upright, Standard Coverage, SR, K=16.8 by Tyco Fire Suppression Products
The 16.8 K-factor, Model K17-231, Standard Response, Standard Coverage, Upright and Pendent Sprinklers (Ref. Figure 1) are automatic sprinklers of the frangible bulb type. They are “standard response - spray sprinklers” which produce a hemispherical water distribution pattern below the deflector. The 16.8 K-factor, K17-231 Sprinklers were subjected to full scale, high-piled storage, fire tests to qualify their use in lieu of 8.0 or 11.2 K-Factor standard spray sprinklers for the protection of high-piled storage.
Series TY-B, Intermediate Level, Pendent & Upright, SR, K=5.6 & 8.0 by Tyco Fire Suppression Products
The Series TY-B, 5.6 and 8.0 K-factor Upright and Pendent Intermediate Level Sprinklers described in this data sheet are automatic sprinklers of the “standard response” 5 mm frangible bulb type. They are “standard spray” sprinklers intended for use in fire sprinkler systems designed in accordance with the standard installation rules recognized by the applicable Listing or Approval agency (e.g., UL Listing is based on NFPA requirements). Both the Pendent and Upright Sprinklers produce a hemispherical water distribution pattern below the deflector. Intermediate Level Sprinklers are primarily designed for use in rack storage sprinkler systems where their thermally sensitive elements must be shielded from the water spray of higher elevation sprinklers that could operate earlier during a fire. Intermediate Level Sprinklers are also used in other applications such as beneath open gridded catwalks.
